To describe methods of the U.S. healthcare system, such aspects as delivery and management were chosen. Their importance in terms of providing patients with qualitative healthcare services and patient outcomes is difficult to overestimate.
First, the delivery point plays a significant role in every healthcare system, especially while taking into account various external and unexpected happenings. Among them, one can state the COVID-19 pandemic, which required innovative approaches from nurses and other healthcare providers to deliver services to patients. Notably, the process should be not only prompt but also qualitative and effective. Therefore, many points of treatment depend on delivery in the health system of the U.S.
Second, management of all steps, instructions, and coordination of actions assumes direct influence on the patient’s outcomes after the treatment. Management connects all processes within the organization or the entire health care system of the country to form an effective work and treat patients appropriately.
A Potential Health Care Reform for the Effectiveness of Health Care Delivery and Management
As a proposed reform to improve the health care of the U.S. and address specific issues such as pandemics or natural disasters, it will be recommended to implement the Telehealth approach throughout. This method assumes digitalization of both management and delivery of healthcare services while using new technologies. This reform should trigger remote communication not only between the nurse and the patient but also among healthcare providers within the organization.
As an effect, this approach will reduce spending, increase time effectiveness, allow the treatment of the patient, and give them advice constantly while using such gadgets as cameras and computers. Moreover, stakeholders can be involved in the process by providing additional financial support or acting as organizers of volunteer movements to increase reform’s efficiency. The vitality of effectiveness is described in the book by Doarn et al. (2020). The authors state that telemedicine has such benefits as the approach to people in rural areas and many others that make telehealth necessary to be implemented (Doarn et al., 2020). Therefore, this reform will act as a response to modern challenges and will reduce costs for many aspects of the healthcare system.
